Douarnenez's Boats and Ports

Douarnenez is famous for its fishing industry, its boat festivals and its four ports.

The Boat Festival 2010

Every other year, Douarnenez hosts the Temps Fête boat festival, welcoming boats and sailors

from around the world. For details about the 2010 Temps Fête event, visit the French website.

Spot the British boats!

Among the collection of boats belonging to the Port-Musée, there are several vessels with British

connections, notably the lighthouse boat Scarweather and the barge called Northdown.

Douarnenez's ports

Port Rosmeur: Le Vieux Port

The Old Port overlooks the Bay across to Crozon Peninsula. It's a great place for strolling

or people-watching from pavement cafés.

Port de Pêche: the fishing port

This is where the boats return after a night's fishing and where fish auctions still take place.

Port Rhu and the Port-Musée museum

This port is home to most of the privately-owned boats locally and will welcome the Boat Festival

for 2010. A lively port with cafés, restaurants, bookshops and more!

Port de Plaisance: the Tréboul Marina

Just over the bridge from Douarnenez centre you'll find the marina, starting point for many regattas

and races and home to local sailing clubs. Pretty cafés and local shops.
