Guided visit to the mysterious Ile Tristan

 From April to October,
only at low tide.

Summary

Sitting just out of reach in Douarnenez Bay, the Ile Tristan belongs to the French National Trust and can only be reached on foot at very low tide.

This visit offers a unique chance to discover an island of legend, dreams and drama.

Following in the footsteps of characters long gone, you'll learn about the history of the island, its connections with Tristan and Isolde, Parisian high society and even pirates... including the legend of treasure yet to be found!

For individuals, families and groups.

Bookings must be made in advance. 

 

Days: these visits have to be arranged according to  low tide, so please check with the Tourist Office for next available crossings.

 

Time: dependent on low tide.


Duration: allow 2 hours


Difficulty: easy.
Except for: Families with very young children;
Pushchairs;

Wheelchair users; 
Those with mobility problems. 


Advice: the path to the island is slightly rocky, so please wear sturdy, comfortable shoes. 

Places must be reserved in advance.

Meeting place: Cale du guet, boulevard Richepin.
